This weekend I mingled with the young-creative-hipster-world – on the lifestyle and design market “Vogelwild” that took place around here.
A fine selection of different kinds of small makers presented their craft and design work. From furniture or clothing, bags, jewellery to stationary – everything could be found. A lot of the designers are working with ecological and fair produced material or are recycling old material – an approach that becomes more and more important for me, too.
The industrial chic of the location – an old slaughterhouse – the high brick halls were a great setting for this market.
Outside the halls you could watch apprentices and pros presenting their longboard, skateboard, biking or climbing skills, while enjoying some lovely poffertjes – a dutch pancake speciality – f.ex. with caramel sauce and sea salt. Yummy, and so trendy ;)! And aren’t they cute? I am thinking of buying a poffertjes pan…
Did I mention that I didn’t come back home empty-handed, that the poffertjes weren’t the only thing I bought? – Obvious. I really hope that this market will become an establishment to support the creatvie potential in this region!
Here are my favourite exhibitors, that can be seen on the pictures (you find a list of all of them here):
