Sometimes in the evening I feel like I can’t turn off my brain. My head is full of to-do-lists, adrenalin has be leading me through the day, and now it’s dark, I’m wrapped in my blanket, but the thoughts are circling and circling. Sleep is out of sight.
Sometimes reading helps to get rid of the ballast of the day and getting tired. (I’m turning to children’s books lately.)
Lately I came across the idea of pillow or linen sprays that contain essential oils. They can be used to expel unpleasant odours. But, depending on the essential oils used, the can also have aromatherapeutic benefits. So I’m giving this a try now with a subtle smell of calming lavender and balancing lemon. I can’t say yet, whether it really will bring my min to rest or not, but I can say that it makes me feel comfy to be enwrapped in this mild scent. And wouldn’t that be sufficient?
This pillow spray is super easy to make. I suggest to start with a few drops of essential oil and then add more until the intensity is to your liking. It shouldn’t be overwhelming. If you’re interested in the benefits of essential oils and would like to give different blends a try, have a look f.ex. at this infographic for the beginning.
