Efficient – Origami bento bag

November 20, 2016 by nadel&gabel

This may be the fastest and easiest thing I’ve ever sewed. Ratio of time invested : outcame = unbeatable! Although this origami bento bag isn’t difficult to sew, it is helpful to have have pictured tutorial of the folding steps at hand when sewing it for the first time. (I have lot of experience in sewing things wrong sides together, it’s some kind of logical problem.) These pictured instructions f.ex. are helpful. (Optionally you could box the corners to create […]

Small things – Beeswax food wrap

December 13, 2015 by nadel&gabel

Alright, christmas is coming closer and I am busy getting all my presents ready. This year will be very much a DIY christmas. It wasn’t intended like this from the beginning, but then I stumbled upon interesting projects, one after another, and thought that not only I could like them but also my family and friends. The pillow spray is one of them, this beeswax food wrap is another, and some more to follow up. Let me also say, that there […]

A little something – Homemade truffles and a DIY gift box

December 21, 2014 by nadel&gabel

Now it’s the time when you can count the days till the christmas holidays are finally here. And before I retreat solely to the analog world for a few days, enjoying time with my family and long not seen friends, here’s a last christmas gift idea, that you still can easily whip up in case of urgent gift shortage. I made this nice collection of truffles for some of my colleagues. But your neighbours, your postman, your aunts and uncles […]

All my little notebooks

July 13, 2012 by nadel&gabel

Phew! Last class tests corrected, final grades made! During the last days there’ve been a few points of despair and frustration (“Where have you been during our lessons?!” – “Hey, it is your mother tongue!”). I probably wouldn’t have survived without the help of chocolate cookies. Now this work is done and I am so happy and relieved to have at least a bit more time for …  living. And being creative again!

Very berry – Fruit leather

June 25, 2012 by nadel&gabel

Post aus meiner Küche (Mail from my kitchen) – that is: a brilliant idea of the three German blogging ladies Clara, Jeanny and Rike to share culinary treats and connect with each other. You are swapping homemade goodies, fitting to a given theme, with a partner. It is all about cooking and baking, wrapping and giving with love. And it is not only giving but at the same time being presented … from a unknown person with an unknown homemade […]

Embrace – A whole bunch of bracelets

June 12, 2012 by nadel&gabel

This selection of bracelets that you can see here were a longterm project of me, literally tying in with my passion for friendship bracelets when I were a teenager. The great thing about them, whether you are using a braiding, wrapping or knotting technic is, that you are totally mobile. You can start your bracelet practically everywhere, put it back into your pocket and finish it another time, although each of these bracelets doesn’t take too much time. You`re having […]
